Anne's Day 8

Rainy day at home on a Monday equals diet pause. We had breakfast at home, had ice cream, a heavy lunch at Kanin Club plus a dinner of chips and coke. Exercise on halt, indeed another diet disaster day. Will try my best to get back on track tomorrow.

Anne's Day 4: Diet Disaster

Feeling sick with flu.Currently taking BioFlu, so no workout today.

Today was also our monthly meeting with the boss so food is overflowing. I had 2 donuts. and a cup of milo for breakfast, had a hefty lunch of boiled veggies with bagoong, caldereta, fish fillet in lemon sauce, chicken fillet in cream sauce, chopsuey, and some fruits. For the afternoon snack, had a zesto and mamon from red ribbon. Not sure if I'll have dinner though, am really not feeling well.

Sorry not much photos as the meeting was on-going when i had them.

Anne's Day 7

One week since we started. Doing a daily entry is quite a struggle. Was on vacation at aunt's house over the weekend, thus failed to keep up with the daily entries. Will try to catch up this coming week.

Anne's Day 3

Struggling with diet due to the many temptations. Received a box of red velevet cupcake with cream cheese frosting from my staff.I had two cupcakes and shared the rest. Had to skip aikido and yoga classes because of the order for 3 boxes of cupcakes. Also had another cupcake, this time chocolate--- i had to taste my product.:P

Failed to take a photo of my lunch...1/2 cup of black rice and a small can of hunt's pork and beans.

Anne's Day 2: Feeling the waters

It's really difficult to go on diet when everyone else is driving you to eat whatever food they can think of. Today, i failed to complete my work-out routine. I only finished my 30 minute walk-run-walk on the treadmill. I could no longer sustain the 8km/hr speed for 10 mins. I only lasted for 5mins, although I did maintain the walk at 6km/hr speed.

I was about to start my iron pumping when I was called in by the therapist for my treatment. I received a free trial of "multi-firme," a type of slimming therapies wherein you are attached to electodes and your muscles are allegedly worked out by the on and off electrical stimulation. This lasted for 30 mins. Then the next treatment was called "hot masque" wherein my belly was massaged and a warm liquid, persumably some form of a wax was applied to it. This one lasted for an hour. The hot masque was relaxing, but its efficacy in terms of achieving a slender physique...  im really not totally convinced.

Alain Week 1 Day 1

It's unfortunate I wasn't able to go to the gym today because my bed is so comfortable.

For the diet plan, I had red bean patties sandwich for my breakfast and lunch which I wasn't able to take a picture of because I was driving for breakfast and was very busy concentrating on work on lunch. Refer to Anne's post for reference since we had the same breakfast.

For dinner I ate the glazed friend chicken from Greenwich.

And the final tally...

It was a awesome day. Good night!

Anne's Day 1: A Struggling Start

Post birthday buffet, adjusting to eating healthy and right at the correct proportion is definitely a challenge. I had to struggle with my cravings and had to be stronger jot ro give in to temptations.

Intake:
Breakfast: wheat bread grilled cheese sandwich with egg salad dressing

Lunch: whole wheat bread grilled cheese sandwich with egg salad dressing and twinnings four red fruits tea

Snack: slice of Red Ribbon celebrations chocolate cake courtesy of Rizza (post birthday present)

Total calorie intake vs allotted=-14

Exercise: Aikido 7:30-9:00PM session with Sensei Cris

Day 1 was challenging but I made it through with only 14 calories excess based on my allotted calories of 1200/day. Failed to attend 1st class but managed to attend 2nd aikido classes.

Our Journey Begins

Introduction

This is me, Alain, and my girlfriend Anne. This photo was taken at Viking's restaurant-- a buffet-type restaurant-- earlier because it's Anne's birthday.

We've been struggling with our weight for the most part of our relationship (me, for the most part of my life) because we really love to eat.  We like to experiment with what we eat. She likes to experiment with her cooking. We even travel to different places just to try out their dishes.

Today, though, we promised each other that this will be the last buffet we will ever eat and we'll do our best to lose our excess weights and live a healthy lifestyle. For our future.

As It Stands

Currently, we have a sedentary lifestyle. I have a desk job as a developer and the best exercise so far is playing Ingress. I weight about 212 lbs. Anne weighs at 135 lbs.

We also have other measurements but this will be our main gauge for weight loss

Goal

From readings, most are saying that a very fast weight loss (more than 2 lbs per week) is unhealthy. We tend to agree but I think we can push it a bit more. Our goal is to reach our ideal body weights (mine: 145lbs; her: 110lbs) as soon as possible. Probably around Christmas (December). This will be about 15 weeks.

Method

JeFit

We are fans of saving money so we'll be employing a number of techniques that balances saving money while maximizing our returns.

1. Gym - exercising at the gym is better since if we can't do it at home. We've enrolled for a lifetime membership at Slimmer's World. We will also be using the android app JeFit Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=je.fit.pro). This app has great collection of exercise routines and helps out in doing sets.

Zombies, Run!
We will also be accompanying cardio with the app Zombies, Run (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sixtostart.zombiesrun) which, as I heard, a great way to motivate runs.

2. Aikido - we've always been aikidoka but recently, due to our unusual schedules, we were not able to participate. We will be returning to this fun activity.

Calories Counter
3. Random exercise - what's life without the surprises. We will be engaging in other exercise activities like boxing, arnis, biking or running.

4. Diet - exercising will be in vane if we do not reduce our food intake. We will be using the idea of calories counting. To help us with this, we will be using Calorie Counter from My Fitness Pal (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myfitnesspal.android).

We've previously used this app and it was effective until we stopped.

A Promise

Me and Anne will be posting daily pics and screenshots of our routines and intakes here. We will also be posting updates on the measurements every week.
